watermelon, peas, orange, strawberry, apple, and cherries. $4 each (beads on apple will actually be sewn on, not glued... so will look much nicer)

b.) black damask with green rhinestone

c.) pretty ruffled plaid

a birthday gift for evelyn...

it was my niece's 100th day (baekil) this weekend so instead of buying her a gift, i decided to make one. so, among my random random hobbies, i enjoy sewing. before this project, i had only made aprons, but i found it to be pretty easy to make. =)

isn't the fabric so cute? i found it at this little japanese fabric store in torrance. =) the dress is reversible and the reverse side matches the bloomers.
(this is for 18 mo.)

i put two different colors for the buttons on this dress and sewed them differently too, just for funsies... =)

these are for 6 months. these fabrics, i got at tall mouse. i absolutely LOVE the apple print. andrew picked it out! good eye, huh?

i realize now after posting on my blog, that the color of these pictures is kind of off. but i'm too lazy to fix. so deal with it! and yes, my walls are purple =)

a fun valentine's day craft...

this year for valentine's day, i decided to make andrew a gift. i got the inspiration from color me katie. she has the cutest ideas ever! anyway, i had a lot of fun making it so decided to post it on my blog. it turned out super girly so i baked andrew a cake to make up for it. haha!

this is what happens when you leave your camera on manual focus and then forget to change it back to autofocus... oops!

here's the cover...

"hi."

"i have a surprise for you"

"ready?"

"Happy Valentines Day!
i love you
2.14.10"

the back...

it's pretty self-explanatory and you can probably figure out how to make it just by looking at it, but just in case:

what you'll need:
cardboard
glue
scissors
paper (i used scrapbooking paper)
cardstock
ribbon/lace
wallet-sized photos of yourself
embellishments
photo corners (optional)

*you can cut out cardboard into any shape you want and punch a hole at one end. i just bought the cardboard pre-cut =) makes life easier.
*cut out the scrapbooking paper/cardstock in the same shape as the cardboard and glue it on. glue your photos on to the paper. (i then used sticky photo corners to make sure they don't fall off)
*decorate with embellishments (paper flowers, rhinestones, brads, buttons, ribbon, lace, etc.)
*tie it all together with some ribbon.

have fun! =)

guten tag!

i haven't updated in a while. so some of these will go back. way back. back into time... oh wait. that's a blackstreet song.

on one of our many trips to napa, andrew surprised me with some dahlias from a farmer's market... the same one where caden asked why the salsa & guacamole lady's stomach was so big.

my sister and i baked a birthday cake for me! it was lemony and yummy

you can add sewing to my list of random things i like to do. this was my first project-- an apron for my sister. and since then, i've made... more aprons!

"did someone call for room service?" --madeleine, the maid.

andrew and i took a trip to SD where he showed me his talents in leaning.

here's one he took of me and my talent of ... standing straight. and having poofy hair.

i don't know what this is. but it's cool.

notice the resemblance?

here's what i gave out for christmas this year... cookie dough mix! it was fun making everything, but i made a huge mess and had a mini tantrum trying to figure out how to use illustrator to make the labels. don't they kind of remind you of pirates?

food. give me food.
this reminds me of those ... "hope for a better tomorrow!" pictures. if you know what i mean. if not, then oh well.

my sister asked me to take pictures for their holiday card this year. here's evelyn... just a couple of weeks old.

caden and evelyn

caden and his campaign poster. he's running for president. "CADEN KIM. CHANGE."

evelyn's first bottle. i made it black and white to draw focus away from the fact that evelyn is drinking air bc SOME PEOPLE... i won't name names... aren't paying attention!
